Peer review is designed to assess the validity, quality, and often authenticity of articles for publication. The main goal is to maintain the integrity of science by filtering out articles that are invalid or of low quality.
From a publisher's perspective, peer review serves as a content filter, directing better quality articles to better quality magazines and thereby creating the magazine's brand.
Running an article through a peer review process adds value to the article. Therefore, publishers need to ensure that peer review is robust.
The best peer review.
