Misteri Begu Ganjang: Pesona Tradisi Lisan Masyarakat Batak Toba yang Berujung Kriminalitas

Abstrak

Oral tradition is a story that develops in society verbally, one part of oral tradition is myth. A famous myth in the Toba Batak community is the begu ganjang. This study aims to analyze the essence of begu ganjang as an oral tradition in the Batak Toba community, analyze the perception of the Batak Toba people towards the oral tradition of begu ganjang and analyze the response of the Batak Toba people to the phenomenon of crime by the issue of begu ganjang. This study uses the concurrent embedded research method, with a combination of the primary method being the priority and the secondary method to enrich. The results of this study will explain about: (1) the essence of begu ganjang as an oral tradition of Batak Toba, (2) public perception of the oral tradition of begu ganjang and (3) public response to the phenomenon of crime caused by the issue of the existence of begu ganjang. The conclusion of the results of this study will show the essence, perception and response of the Toba Batak people to the oral tradition of begu ganjang that has developed, leading to criminality.
