About the Journal

Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat Ilmu Pendidikan is a scientific journal that serves as a forum for academics and practitioners to publish the results of their community service activities in the field of education. Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat Ilmu Pendidikan is published by the Department of Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Lampung. Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat Ilmu Pendidikan is published twice a year, in May and November.

Alur Penyerahan Naskah

Penulis yang ingin menyerahkan (submit) naskah perlu memperhatikan poin-poin berikut ini. Jika naskah tidak sesuai dengan persyaratan akan dikembalikan ke penulis.

  1. Naskah atau artikel belum pernah diterbitkan sebelumnya dan tidak sedang dalam proses pertimbangan untuk diterbitkan di jurnal lain;
  2. File naskah dalam bentuk Microsoft Word;
  3. Manuskrip sudah sesuai dengan Template Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat Ilmu Pendidikan (JPMIP);
  4. Membuat akun sebagai penulis;
  5. Penulis melakukan submit artikel;
  6. Editor menerima artikel dari penulis dan melakukan peer review;
  7. Artikel yang memenuhi syarat ketentuan sesuai dengan kebijakan pengelola jurnal akan diperiksa dan dilakukan penilaian kelayakan oleh reviewer;
  8. Naskah artikel yang sudah melalui tahap penilaian oleh reviewer akan teruskan kepada penulis untuk dilakukan perbaikan;
  9. Artikel yang sudah diperbaiki sesuai dengan saran dari reviewer akan dipublikasikan.

Focus and Scope

Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat Ilmu Pendidikan is a scientific publication focusing on integrating educational science with community service practices. It was published by the Department of Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Lampung. Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat Ilmu Pendidikan aims to facilitate the exchange of ideas and innovations and the implementation of community service programs based on educational science, with an emphasis on improving the quality of life of the community through educational, participatory, and sustainable approaches.

The focus of the Journal:
Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat Ilmu Pendidikan focuses on studies and practices of community service directly related to the field of education, including:

  1. Community Empowerment through Education: Community service programs aimed at improving literacy, life skills, inclusive education, or strengthening community capacity in both formal and non-formal educational contexts
  2. Educational Innovation in the Community: Implementing creative learning models, utilizing educational technology (edtech), or using pedagogical approaches based on local wisdom to address social and educational issues in the community.
  3. Evaluation and Impact of Community Service: Critical analysis of program effectiveness, measurement of socio-economic impact, and reflection on challenges and sustainability of community service programs.

Scope of the Journal:
Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat Ilmu Pendidikan accepts articles covering the following topics:

  1. Community-based curriculum development
  2. Teacher/lecturer training in the context of community service
  3. Character, environmental, or entrepreneurship education integrated with community service activities
  4. Utilisation of media and technology in community service programs
  5. Case studies of community service involving multidisciplinary approaches (educational psychology, educational sociology, educational management)
  6. Community development based on educational research
  7. Community accompaniment and empowerment in education
  8. Dissemination of educational science products.

Proses Peer Review

Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat Ilmu Pendidikan implements a rigorous and transparent peer review process to ensure published articles' quality, originality, and relevance. This process is designed to uphold academic integrity, encourage credible knowledge exchange, and ensure that each article contributes significantly to developing education, science, and community service practices. The following are the main stages and principles of the Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat Ilmu Pendidikan peer review process:

A. Initial Stage (Initial Review)
After the editor receives a manuscript, an initial screening is conducted to ensure that:

  1. Compliance with the focus and scope of Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat Ilmu Pendidikan.
  2. Compliance of the article structure with the writing guidelines (e.g., IMRAD system: Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion).
  3. Compliance with publication ethics standards (originality, freedom from plagiarism, and conflict of interest).
  4. Completeness of supporting data. Manuscripts not meeting these criteria will be returned to the author for revision or rejection before entering the peer review stage.

B. Peer Review Process
Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat Ilmu Pendidikan uses a Double-Blind Review system in which the identities of the authors and peer reviewers are kept confidential to minimize bias. This process involves the following steps:

  1.  Assignment of Reviewers: The editor will select 2-3 peer reviewers who are competent in education, community service, or the specific theme of the article. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise, experience, and publication record.
  2. Evaluation by Reviewers: Reviewers evaluate articles based on the following criteria:Relevance:The article's contribution to developing education science and community service practices.
    Originality:Novelty of ideas, program innovation, or methodological approaches.
    Methodology: Adequacy of community service implementation methods, research design, and data analysis.
    Impact: Potential practical application, program sustainability, or policy implications.
    Writing Quality:Clarity of argument, consistency of logic, and use of scientific language.
  3. Reviewer Recommendations: Each reviewer provides recommendations in the form of Accepted, Accepted with Minor Revisions, Accepted with Major Revisions, or Rejected, accompanied by constructive comments for improving the article.

C. Final Decision by the Editor
After revisions are complete, the editor will decide on the suitability for publication based on the following:

  1. The revisions' compliance with the reviewer's recommendations.
  2. The consistency of the arguments and improvement in the quality of the article.
  3. The availability of publication slots in the appropriate edition.
  4. Revised articles may be returned to the reviewer for re-evaluation (second-round review) if necessary.

Kebijakan Frekuensi Penerbitan Artikel

Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat Ilmu Pendidikan (JPMIP) terbit dalam satu tahun sebanyak  dua kali dengan jumlah maksimal artikel sebanyak 16 dan minimal 10 yaitu pada setiap yaitu Mei, dan November pada masing-masing volume.

Kebijakan Open Access

Jurnal ini menyediakan open access yang pada prinsipnya membuat riset tersedia secara gratis untuk publik dan akan mensupport pertukaran pengetahuan global.

Penulis adalah pemegang hak cipta dari setiap makalah / artikel yang telah dimuat di JPMIP. Pembaca diperbolehkan mengunduh, menggunakan dan mengadopsi isi artikel selama mereka mengutip artikel (mensitasi) dengan menyebutkan judul, penulis, dan nama jurnal ini. 

Kebijakan Plagiarisme

Kebijakan Plagiarisme pada JPMIP ada dua bentuk, yaitu:

  1. Penulis sengaja menyalin karya orang lain dan mengklaimnya sebagai milik mereka,
  2. Penulis menyalin materi miliknya yang telah dipublikasikan sebelumnya baik seluruhnya atau sebagian, tanpa memberikan referensi yang sesuai juga disebut sebagai (auto plagiat atau self-plagiarism).

Article Similarity Index Requirements

The similarity index policy for articles to be published in Jurnal Inovasi Pendidikan dan Pengabdian Masyarakat must meet a minimum similarity index of 20%.

Etika Publikasi

Pernyataan kode etik ilmiah ini merupakan pernyataan kode etik semua pihak yang terlibat dalam proses publikasi jurnal ilmiah ini yaitu pengelola, editor, mitra bestari, dan penulis (author). Kode Etika Publikasi Ilmiah pada Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat Ilmu Pendidikan (JPMIP) mengacu pada nilai objektifitas dan kejujuran.

The Journal of Community Service in Education is an open-access journal available to the public. As a journal that does not charge subscription fees, authors or research funding institutions must pay publication fees to support the publishing process. This policy enables all readers to access articles for free, quickly, and permanently. Each manuscript submitted to this journal will be charged a publication fee of Rp.500,000 (per article), which covers article processing costs (such as editorial review and quality assurance) as well as maintenance of the DOI (Digital Object Identifier) to ensure the article remains indexed and easily traceable in the long term.
