Abstract

Technostress is a condition practiced by people due to their incapability to adapt to the use of new technology, ultimately affecting their mental health and performance. The purpose of this study is to determine the elements that technostress, particularly in the educational context, and to propose measures that educators and educational institutions can take to mitigate it. Based on various literatures, technostress is influenced by factors such as technology overload, technology invasion, technology complexity, technology anxiety, and technology uncertainty. This study also reviews the use of information and communication technology (ICT) in education and how it can lead to technostress. Measures to address it include enhancing ICT competence, time management, social support, training and skill development, and collaborative planning. These findings are expected to assist educators and educational institutions in managing technostress, thereby improving the well-being and performance of educators.
