This research to explain the problem of character education students in Indonesia and to application theMerdeka Belajar curriculum based on character education from the perspective of Imam Al Ghazali as a solution.The research method used is Library Research (literature review). The results of this research explain Imam Al Ghazali's education method utilizes exemplary, advisory, storytelling, and habituation methods in implementing a character-based Merdeka curriculum. To achieve this, teachers should attention to the learning material and evaluation methods, act as a role model for students, collaborate with educational units and communities to support and integrate character education, utilize social media to disseminate information and support character education, and promote and disseminate good practices
