Bentuk Pilihan Kode dalam Interaksi Sosial Masyarakat Jawa di Kecamatan Sinar Peninjauan Kabupaten Ogan Komering Ulu: Kajian Sosiolinguistik

Abstract

Sociolinguistics is a scientific discipline that examines the use of language in society through a socio-cultural context approach. The form of code choice refers to the form of language, dialect, variety, style, and level of speech used by the speech community in interacting. Sinar Peninjauan District, Ogan Komering Ulu Regency is one of the areas in South Sumatra Province which is inhabited by immigrants from Java Island and the Ogan Tribe as native people. This study aims to determine the variation of the code in the community in the Sinar Peninjauan District. The data comes from social interactions in the realm of buying and selling and neighbors. Data is obtained using the Listen, record and write methods. Findings in the field indicate that code variations in community social interaction in Sinar Peninjauan District include; international language with Arabic and English; Indonesian; regional languages, namely Javanese, Sundanese and Ogan. Code variations in the form of speech levels are also found in Javanese Krama and Javanese Ngoko.
